Violence against women has been a serious social, cultural and economic problem in Bangladesh, where nearly two out of three women have experienced gender-based violence during their lifetime, and domestic violence is a common, though largely underreported occurrence.
So, conducting awareness programs to eliminate violence against women is very important. And regardless to say, brands can play an important role to build awareness regarding this alarming issue. Yes, many brands are addressing this issue through campaigns. Corporate Social Responsibility? Yes, on point!
Here are the top 3 campaigns that stood out for women:
1. International Women’s Day Campaign by Jui
In this campaign, the brand addressed domestic violence that most of the women of our country happen to face every day.
2. Last Bus by Robi
Women are harassed everywhere and anywhere. Let it be a public bus or on the crowded road. If you are even a little active on social media you must’ve gone through all those posts by victims describing how they were harassed on public transport even at broad daylight. So, a woman traveling alone at night? I am sure being the residence of Bangladesh, you can feel the insecurity. And this is the factor that was addressed by this campaign.
3. SpeakUp against Sexual Harassment by Brac
So, this is based on a true story. And this campaign shows how we all should speak up against sexual harassment. It is high time we need to stand together to eradicate this social disease.
